Privacy Policy for SysLens
Last Updated: June 17, 2026
Your privacy is of the utmost importance to us at 7Studio (referred to as "we", "us", "our", or "Developer"). This Privacy Policy explains how SysLens (the "Application" or "App"), a comprehensive system diagnostics, telemetry, and hardware audit utility, handles data.
We are committed to maintaining the highest standards of data protection, transparency, and privacy. Across our system diagnostic monitors, hardware testing suites, performance notification daemons, and screen widgets, all core processing occurs completely offline on your local device. We do not run any remote user databases, and we do not collect, transmit, or monetize your personal information.
1. Overview of Data We Access & Process
To perform hardware inspections, system benchmarking, and custom widget rendering, the Application requires access to specific device properties. Below is an exhaustive breakdown of the variables and hardware sensors accessed:
A. System & Hardware Specifications (Passive Read)
- What we access: Brand, Model, Operating System version, CPU Architecture, SoC (System on Chip) type, GPU Renderer, RAM capacity, and available Storage space.
- Purpose: To populate the system telemetry dashboard, enabling users to audit their actual hardware configurations.
- Storage & Transmission: These values are read dynamically from standard Android APIs (e.g.,
android.os.Build), stored solely in working memory (RAM), and are never transmitted to any external server.
B. Hardware Sensor Telemetry
- What we access: Device Sensors including but not limited to Accelerometers, Gyroscopes, Magnetometers, Barometers, Light Sensors, Proximity Sensors, and Temperature probes.
- Purpose: To run real-time telemetry diagnostics, verify sensor responsiveness, and display live graphs in the "Sensors" panel.
- Storage & Transmission: These data streams are processed strictly in memory on-device and are not logged or transmitted.
C. Device Camera & Flashlight
- What we access: Camera hardware registers, resolution capability, active preview streams during manual diagnostics, and LED flashlight controls.
- Purpose: To verify camera focus, preview rendering, and flash functionality within the manual Diagnostic test suite.
- Storage & Transmission: No images, videos, or camera feeds are ever recorded, saved, cached, or transmitted. The preview is displayed on-screen in real-time and immediately discarded when the diagnostic test is closed.
D. Biometric & Security Credentials
- What we access: Biometric verification states via the Android
BiometricPromptframework. - Purpose: To run safety and integrity verification tests for the device's secure enrollment hardware (e.g., fingerprint patterns or facial recognition).
- Storage & Transmission: We have absolutely zero access to your actual biometric blueprints, PINs, or passwords. The verification is entirely cryptographically-sandboxed within the Android Keystore and Secure Element. SysLens only receives a boolean success/fail callback from the Android OS.
E. Battery, Temperature, & Charging Metrics
- What we access: Current charging state, battery health, voltage, charge/discharge rates, and SoC/battery temperatures.
- Purpose: To generate the battery telemetry layout and deliver high-temperature cooling alerts.
- Storage & Transmission: All calculations are performed offline on-device.
F. Network & Wi-Fi Metrics
- What we access: Wi-Fi SSID (where permitted by system location permissions), network speed capacity, IP addresses, signal strength, and network connection status.
- Purpose: To diagnose current internet delays, latency pings, and localized signal drops.
- Storage & Transmission: Done locally. SSIDs or network identities are never compiled or tracked.
2. Advanced Permissions Required & Justification
To provide deep system auditing, SysLens requests specific Android permissions. We adhere strictly to the principle of "minimum privilege":
| Permission | Purpose |
|---|---|
android.permission.CAMERA |
Mandatory to initialize and verify the physical camera sensors and test the camera flash. |
android.permission.USE_BIOMETRIC |
Required to communicate with the Android Biometric Manager and execute biometric hardware checks. |
android.permission.POST_NOTIFICATIONS |
Required to deliver localized background stability alerts and performance briefings. |
android.permission.SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW |
Demanded purely to draw the floating custom telemetry Overlay Console so users can watch RAM/CPU drops while executing external third-party games or apps. |
android.permission.ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION / ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION |
Required solely on certain Android versions to read local Wi-Fi SSIDs during network diagnostics due to location-pairing OS architecture. No GPS tracking or physical location sweeps are performed. |
android.permission.FOREGROUND_SERVICE |
Used to run the optional light performance monitor service in the background so the floating overlay console doesn't get swept by Android's memory killer mid-use. |
3. Third-Party Integrations & Advertising
To keep SysLens free of charge, we include advertising placements. These services may collect general, pseudonymous identifiers to serve relevant ads:
A. Google Mobile Ads (AdMob)
- Service Provider: Google LLC.
- Data Processed: Mobile advertising Identifiers (such as Google Advertising ID / AAID), browser/app telemetry, general location information (country/city derived from IP), and ad click interactions.
- How it works: AdMob delivers customized or non-customized advertising banners.
- Privacy Regulation Compliance: SysLens is integrated with the official Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) Consent Management SDK.
- EU/GDPR & UK Users: Upon first launch, you are shown a consent form where you can explicitly grant or deny targeting. You can revoke, opt-out, or adjust your choices at any time directly through the app's Settings -> Privacy Controls panel.
- CCPA (California): We implement mechanisms to restrict data processing for California residents where applicable.
4. Local Storage & Data Retention
- Offline Data: To remember your customized configuration details (such as whether you enabled the overlay, toggle configurations, or your preferred cyberpunk display theme), we utilize local shared preferences (
SharedPreferences). - Retention: This data resides safely within your device's isolated application storage sandbox. It is automatically, completely deleted by the Android system if you choose to uninstall the App.
5. Security Measures
Since SysLens does not run external database servers or handle remote user profile transfers, the integrity of your diagnostics data relies entirely on Android's native sandboxing security architecture, which prevents other apps from snooping on SysLens storage. We employ defensive coding configurations to secure the service boundaries on your mobile device.
6. Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)
The Application does not knowingly collect, request, or target personal information from children under the age of 13. Because our utility has zero personal data inputs, we remain fully compliant with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). If you believe a minor has interacted with our AdMob portal in an improper way, please contact us.
